The blusco icon: a white Klein bottle tilting its head on blue

Yo.
Everybody bluscoing?

No follows. You still hear the talk.
blusco is a Bluesky client that doesn't use follows.

Three ideas. That's all.

See people as we do.

You hear the people at the next table. You don't talk to them. Run into them enough, and one day you're talking. blusco puts that on the screen.

No inside. No outside.

Follows split people into insiders and outsiders. blusco has no follows. So there is no inside and no outside. Familiar faces get the same bubble color as everyone else. The icon is a Klein bottle: a bottle with no inside and no outside.

Take the conversation back.

Timelines lost their time order. They became stages for recommendations. blusco windows run in time order. Replies line up as conversations. Other people's talk drifts over from the next table.

You pick who to read.
They never find out.

You don't ask someone to be your friend. So blusco has no follows. Combine people, keywords, and feeds into windows of your own. Nobody sees who you read.

The web version on a phone. Made-up people talk in speech bubbles

One post, one breath.

Each post is split into bubbles of four lines, stacked a little off-center. The same post always gets the same shape. Long posts and threads read as one person chatting. English posts are set in a comic-book hand.

A long post joined into four bubbles

Long posts join into one puffy cloud.

Likes are stones.

No hearts. A blue dot instead. One press makes a river pebble. Eight make a cut sapphire. No numbers. The shine tells you.

Time collects in a bottle.

Scroll, and a Klein bottle puffs up in the corner. Scroll back, and it fills with ink. Tap it: one hour back. It fills in 24 hours and starts over in the 25th. No inside, no outside. Nothing spills.

Open a shop.

In a Kyoto townhouse, the room facing the street is the mise. The old word means a shelf for showing things. Windows are for looking. Shops are for showing. A podcast. A new song. An app you made. A drawing. Shelve your posts, or anyone's. Up to three shops each. No rankings. Small shops stay visible.

Rules we made along the way.

blusco started on October 4, 2026. We used it every day. We fixed what felt wrong. Six rules came out of that.

No numbers.

No like counts. No follower counts. See the amount in the shine of a stone and the number of faces. Numbers make you compare.

Shape tells you.

A bubble is a voice. A frame is something shown. Speed lines: a post carried in. A cloud: replies closed. Dots: a call nobody has answered yet. You know before you read.

Only you are on the right.

Everyone else lines up on the left. Eyes start from the left. So you see who is talking before you read what they say.

Nobody is told.

Add someone to a window. Visit a shop. Nobody is notified. Your posts don't record which window you wrote from.

Nothing to remember.

The dock never changes. One icon opens one place. We tried a dock that changed with context. We dropped it.

Stay in Bluesky's shape.

A blue dot is a like. A poll answer is a reply. People without blusco can join the same conversation.

And more.

On the Mac, just write.

blusco nano is a small window for posting from the Mac. Press ⇧⌘B in any app, and the composer comes forward. The bottle on the right is a character meter: it fills at 300. Click it, and what you wrote joins the stack as a bubble. Click it with an empty field, and the stack goes out as a thread.
